Jesus, I love You

Designed me, formed me
Compiled me, executed me
Lo and behold
I’m fearfully and wonderfully made

Breathed into me, the breath of life
Poured into me, his holy spirit
I sprung forth to life
My maker marveled at his creation

Through ups and downs in my life
Through joys and sorrows
Through trials and tribulation
He carried me on his shoulders

All decisions, all confusions
All crossroads, all obstacles
All distraction, all temptations
He was there to fight n win for me

Oh Lord, there is none like you
You are the author and finisher of my Life
You are perfect, you are awesome
Jesus, I love you

Life’s thrill

Over the mountains and the seas
Our life journeys on
Sometimes walking, sometimes crawling
Swimming, flying n drowning is all in the game

Life is a vessel, full of loopholes
Not knowing when it gets trapped into one
Loopholes pop open from pressures of the surroundings
N wet u to the core

Washed ashore with the morning tide
Tossed all night in the sea, drowsy as can be
Reviving itself and looking forward
A new beginning, a new look

Life’s suspense is a thrill

Shamirpet Lake Trip - 29th August 2010

The Initiative

As I headed for Church on this Sunday morning on my two wheeler, the smell of the wet sand was soothing. It had drizzled the whole night and the Sun was showing signs of coming out but the clouds had to allow it.
After the service we had our fellowship and as we were packing off, Paul comes up n says, “Aby, shall we go somewhere for an outing?”

 “Where?”

“Shamirpet Lake”

“Sounds good, when?”

“This afternoon”

“This afternoon?” My mind was reluctant at first.

“We can head after lunch…”

“OK. Who all are coming?”

“Let’s find that out”

So finally, six of us agreed to go.

The Plan

We decided that the five of us would meet at Iwin’s house by 1100 hrs. Since it was a lake and Sudhakar and Iwin being fishing maniacs they propped up the idea that we will do fishing also. Since the rest of us had no real interest in it, we left them to pick up the gear for it. Plan was to have a quick lunch at Iwin’s house.

I tagged along with Iwin n reached his house around 1045 hrs. We both quickly got ready and started waiting for the others. 1130 hrs still no sign of them. Iwin started calling them. Finally, at noon all were there. The reason for the delay, Sudhakar(Sudha) n Vikrant(Vicky) were searching for worms.

All assembled we decided that we will have lunch on the way. So I suggested that we go to Nartaki Restaurant near Lothkunta Y junction.

So we loaded our gear and the six of us bundled into the Iwin’s brand old maruti 800 (Hey no offense Iwin, it’s a very handy car). So Iwin behind the wheel, myself into the front passenger seat and the others four in the back seat. You might wonder how four fully grown men sat in the back seat.  Since Hudson n Vicky were lighter they were sitting on top of Sudha n Paul.

The lunch

So we headed for Lothkunta. I navigated the shortest way for Iwin through the cantonment area. So we reached our venue for lunch by 1300 hrs.

We took our seats in the dimly lit restaurant. From my experience I knew that the food was good but the place was not so good to sit around n eat. But this was an adventure so no one complained. I was grateful.

We ordered for two jumbo packs of chicken biryani. The waiter din’t tell us that along with jumbo pack they give naans as complimentary. So we were surprised when he placed it before us. We told him, boss we ordered for biryani. That is when he broke the secret about the naans.

So now we had to wait for our order to be delivered. Somehow we had to kill time. No worries, we had two very good entertainers in the form of Vicky n Sudha. Paul had brought his 50k SLR cam. So he pulled it out and was trying to take some pics. He clicked couple of them but unfortunately none of them was good and by the time we could see he had already erased them. Didn’t even have a glimpse of them.

By now our food had been served, so we digged into it. So no one made a sound coz all six of us were very hungry and tried to finish the whole. But the two jumbo packs proved to be too much for the six of us, so we decided to parcel the left over.

Small break in the journey

After a sumptuous lunch, we headed to our destination. On the way, Iwin pointed out that his tank was running low n we had to fill it up. So we pulled up at the Rythu bazaar petrol pump.

Iwin pulled up and as the tank was being refilled, Paul, Hudson n Vicky slipped away. So we pulled out of the petrol station and waited by the side of the road for them.

We didn’t know why they had gone but when they returned we found out. They had bought some essentials for the journey. Guess what? Snacks.

Siddipet Highway

The siddipet highway is a state highway connecting Secunderabad to Siddipet via Lothkunta, Alwal, Hakimpet and Shamirpet. The lake was just beyond the Hakimpet Air Force station. The road was good and Iwin merily stepped on the gas.

With six people on board, I was amazed to see the speedometer touching 80kmph.

So finally, we reached our destination.

Destination Reached

We got off the road treaded over the rocky bank of the lake. The view was awesome so we spent the next 2-3 hours by just roaming here n there, taking snaps, pulling each others legs and venturing out to the farthest location possible.

The fishing enthusiasts couldn’t find a spot to fish. But some of them were raring to have a dip in the lake, though none of them knew swimming. But still we were merrily posing for snaps on whatever landscape possible.

It is very difficult to describe in words the landscapes we saw but some pics will help you understand that.

As we carried on our spree of taking pics, Paul’s 50k SLR’s battery went dead and thus ended our photo session.

By then they had found a place to take a dip, so as I sat by the bank seeing take a dip and trying to practice swimming on shallow area of the lake. It was a splendid time of relaxation.

Though when we started it was raining when we reached here Sun was happily out of the clouds and shining upon us. It was wonderful.

As the clock ticked 1730 hrs it was beginning to get cold and the guys jumped out of the water. Though we had loads of hilarious moments during this phase.

The Journey back to Home

Then finally we headed home with just a small stop to have a cup of tea.

So thus ended our Sunday adventure. It was a wonderful trip at such a short notice and virtually no preparation.

But for some of us who were IT professionals this adventure was much welcomed which refreshed us to carry on with another week in front of the Monitor.

Anyways, as I bid farewell from this trip there are few more trips in the pipeline.

Till then Bye :)
